Symptoms You Should Watch For

Every woman’s body is unique, and changes in your breasts are not always a sign of cancer. Still, there are certain symptoms you should never ignore. 

Schedule a medical evaluation if you notice:

• A new lump or thickening in the breast or underarm
• Changes in size, shape, or symmetry between your breasts
• Skin changes such as dimpling, redness, or a rash that does not go away
• Nipple discharge that is not breast milk, or nipples turning inward when they normally do not
• Ongoing breast pain or tenderness not linked to your menstrual cycle
• Swelling near your collarbone or under your arm

These signs may also be linked to other conditions, but getting them checked promptly is important. A medical provider can order imaging tests or biopsies when necessary.
